Hornet Smart" AWARD

Mission:
To recognize those students at Brown County Schools that exemplify concentrated effort and/or achievement in Academics with supporting A.C.T.I.O.N. for betterment of themselves, community, or school.
Eligible Students:
Brown County students in grades 5-12 with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students should also have a 90% attendance rate for the previous school year (unless extenuating circumstances). Students should also not have any outstanding disciplinary issues.
Criteria for Consideration (A.C.T.I.O.N.):
ACADEMICS- should demonstrate conscious effort towards significant academic improvement or excellence
Community- participates in activities that enrich our community.
These activities are not part of a requirement for another recognition (i.e Eagle Scout)
Trust-displays qualities that exemplify respect for self, school, and community that builds trust among peers, community, and educators.
Initiative - demonstrates motivation to complete tasks
Opportunity - seizes opportunities to better themselves, their class, school, or community
Neighbor - acts to better those around them
Award:
Four quarterly awards will be given to the selected student for 5-8 and 9-12 as chosen. The winner will receive a $100 cash award and will select a charity to receive another $25 cash award in the name of the winner.
